Diesel Engine Technician

Full-TimeMid–Senior

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our team. This position focuses on the repair and maintenance of semi-trucks, power line equipment, and rental equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience working with heavy-duty diesel engines and drivetrains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, including Kenworth, Peterbilt, and Western Star models
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines such as Cummins ISX15 & 12L, PACCAR MX-13, and Detroit Diesel DD15
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify mechanical and operational issues
  • Inspect trucks and equipment for deficiencies and recommend necessary repairs
  • Complete preventative maintenance and major component repairs (engine, drivetrain, etc.)
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
  • Accurately document maintenance, repairs, and inspection findings
  • Utilize company systems to clock in/out, manage work orders, and track job progress
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Work independently or as part of a team to meet shop and field service demands

Requirements

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience working on diesel engines and internal engine components
  • Proven experience in a technician role within a fleet, dealership, or construction environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems
  • Experience working on Class 1–8 trucks and heavy equipment preferred
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software tools including Cummins INSITE, CAT ET, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link (DDDL), and DAVIE (PACCAR)
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and stay self-motivated
  • Basic computer skills for timekeeping and work order management
  • Ability to read and write in English
